r6catalyst was engaged by the Transportation Diversity Council (TDC) to organize their first annual Summit in March of 2013, held in New York City. The theme was centered on the challenges and opportunities in rebuilding our region’s Transportation and Infrastructure systems in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
The r6catalyst team developed a tactical plan which included elements such as speaker selection and coaching, topic development, internal and external communications, speaker, sponsor and participant outreach process, marketing material and communication plan, action items for event day, etc.
We coordinated with key speakers, moderators, assisting with script writing, and developed speaker PowerPoint presentations. We assisted in developing outreach marketing material, provided input for website updates/online registration. Our project manager was the primary contact and coordinated various elements of the program. Potential participant outreach was via emails and telemarketing. Created commit- tees for specific tasks and managed efforts through weekly meetings/conference calls, maintained meeting minutes, project schedule, task updates, etc. Event planning included coordination with venue, caterer, local area hotels, event day setup, photography and AV, entertainment; volunteer/staff management.
r6catalyst secured various prominent and high-profile key speakers for the success of this event, including New York State Comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli ; New York City Comptroller, John C. Liu; DASNY President & CEO, Paul T. Williams; USACE NY Commander, Col. Paul E. Owen; MTA COO, Nuria Fernandez; NYSDOT Assistant Commissioner & Chief Engineer, Phillip Eng; PANYNJ COO (Acting), Stephanie Dawson; NJT Executive Director, Jim Weinstein.
The event, the first of its kind for TDC, was a tremendous success for a small, start-up not-for-pro t organization 501(C)(3)corporation, creating visibility and name recognition.
