Second Contractor Venture Forum (Nov 8, 2017)

On behalf of the r6catalyst team, I thank you for attending NJDOT’s second Contractor Venture Forum.  We hope that you found the Forum informative and worthwhile.  Our primary goal was to increase your understanding of NJDOT’s efforts in leveling the playing field for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs).   One of NJDOT’s key initiatives is the Supportive Services Program (SSP) which provides free management training, business planning, and technical assistance to certified DBE contractors.

The Forum was an incredible success. It was fantastic to see industry leaders in the room and have the opportunity to meet so many of you in person.

If you would like any additional information on any of the presentations made, please contact us, and we will be glad to facilitate.  And if you have any comments and suggestions on improving future events, please let us know.

More importantly, I thank the generosity of NJDOT and the Division of Civil Affairs for hosting the event.

We look forward to your continued participation.

Maddie Chandran
Program Manager, NJDOT SSP

The first Contractor Venture Forum was conducted on March 9, 2017 to facilitate networking and matchmaking between prime contractors and DBEs. The Forum was hosted by the NJDOT Division of Civil Rights & Affirmative Action, in collaboration with r6catalyst, and featured presenters from NJDOT, DBEs, and prime contractors.  Further, DBE participants of the SSP had one-on-one time to discuss with each Prime Contractor about their services and capabilities.  Due to the event, several DBE firms in the Program were successful in securing contracts with Prime contractors.
